week 1
First, thanks to so many of you that came in - chatted, wished us well and enjoyed a cupcake. This has been one of the most rewarding weeks of my life and for that I’m deeply appreciative. This has also been one of the most stressful of my life and for that I’m not. We had a great week for only being open every other day. No, this was not my business strategy - but it’s OK and we learned a lot. The week recap:
Day 1 - opened - great baking day.
Day 2 - Sunday (we’re closed)
Day 3 - opened - but the kitchen just never cooled off properly. My solution is to turn the air down. It is down? Well, let’s just put it on……ummmmm 40 degrees.
Day 4 - no air conditioning at all. Unit frozen (maybe due to me turning it to 40 degrees….ya think?) AC guy turns the heat on. That was fun. Closed cupcakery due to melting butter, staff and customers.
Day 5 - AC fixed - great baking morning. Afternoon the new oven door broke.
Day 6 - Baking slowly due to broken oven door. Hobart gets there about 5pm….ummmm that’s real helpful.
Day 7 - tomorrow - GRAND OPENING!!!! You really should come visit. For no other reason than to see what’s going to happen next :-)
