Gotta love newsprint
Today, I have a new appreciation for newsprint. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m an old fashioned print gal but it’s rare that I look at a newspaper preferring to get my news online. That was until today when my dear friend, Vicki Townsend texted to congratulate me for our mention in today’s business section. What!?!? I hadn’t seen it. Just Cupcakes on the front page of the business section. The race was on to pay and get out of Sam’s to see it for myself. This took, what seemed, forever. Once home I ran in and starting throwing newsprint all over the kitchen until, there it was, a paragraph on the right hand side in between the mention of other cupcake shops. My day had been made. Just Cupcakes in print. The sound of the crumbling paper, the plain newsprint, the misspelling of my last name made me realize how wonderful a newspaper really is. We are thrilled to have gotten a mention and staff writer, Carolyn Shapiro is now on my holiday card list. Thank you for little pleasures as we hurry to get the shop open!
